I am a children's author and illustrator and I also write young adult novels.

 I love both areas of writing so much, as both are so vastly different, but fun in different ways.

I was born and raised in Wisconsin and now live in a tiny town in Southern Indiana with my family. I began writing in high school, all my study hall times, were spent filling notebooks with stories. This led to my first completed young adult novel in 2009.

Art has also been a constant part of my life since early childhood. I create pieces in watercolor/ mixed media and clay sculpture.  I am also a fan of upcycled art work in all forms. All of my Children's picture books are hand drawn and painted with traditional water color/water color pencil, giving every page a truly unique and one of a kind look and style. I enjoy the world of children's picture books immensely, as I feel this period in a child's life is so important to foster good reading skills, and exploration of creativity and art.

 

  I am an avid animal lover and have had just about any kind of pet imaginable. Right now I  have two horse's, two pet roosters with very bad attitudes, one tiny but loud house sparrow named Capt. Jack and his parakeet friend Lulu.
